“The title refers to ‘Coffee, one cup at a time’. Which relates to my belief that having a happy life is stringing a bunch of happy days together. Choosing happy in the morning is like opening a new door to a new day and appreciating it for its unique perspective and lens on life. This reflection is also shown in the wet cobblestone street in Paris as the lights bend & play music for our senses. The experience is given another mood through the water element which also plays into the coloring. When I like something, I do obsesses over it. It is why I make hand cut paper stencil screen prints for over 19 years. As I enjoy everyday early- I want to stretch the day into the long night where you find yourself in this piece. The reflection on life as felt through the backwards writing on the door or window adds a richness to life when you change your perspective by coloring your life. You can be yourself in this scene or anyone - I guess you could also be an Artist living in Paris and seeing through these eyes.
